About This Module
This module is an introduction to the methods and techniques currently used in the applications of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS).
Module Audience
This course is a semester-long course, and is intended to be instructor-led. The course was developed to be taught at the undergraduate level.
Module Materials & Tools
The files are separated into the following folders: GIS Section, GPS Section, and Tests. The Syllabus includes lesson plan information and then the three folders provide additional resources for teaching various topics.
Module Software & Hardware Needs
The software requirements are ESRI’s ArcGIS software and Trimble’s Pathfinder Office. The hardware requirements are a computer capable of running ArcGIS and a Trimble GeoExplorer series GPS receiver.
