MIRA: MIRA is designed to build on the strengths, tenacity, commitment and creativity of rural communities in choosing appropriate uses of technology. It facilitates this by providing grants to community teams comprised of rural residents, community organizations, and/or rural policy and education organizations to enhance social and economic community development activities. The initiative operates on the premise: People first; technology serving communities second.

CARES: Center for Agricultural Resource and Environmental Systems: CARES is a research and service center within the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources at the University of Missouri – Columbia. We use geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, environmental modeling, and internet mapping to help better address resource, environmental and socio-economic issues.
